Minding Our Own Business

video

So, we are posting one of those "videos", the ones that only family will probably laugh at but this was too good to pass up. Davis is having a hard time pronouncing his "R's". This video is the set up. The next video is the one I will show his girlfriends later in life.

A Little Snip-it of "Britches"

We swear he is saying "Britches".

RUN MOMMY. RUN!

Mommy ran the half marathon in Houston this weekend. And lived to tell about it. It was her first one. I think it was harder for us to cheer her on than for her to run. Logistics are tough.

We are waiting for Buddy's pics. Sue Sue had our camera but got a little excited when we saw Mommy and couldn't get a good picture! We waited and saw Mommy around mile 7 and then saw her at the end of the run. This was mile 7. We gave her Goo and Gum. She was happy.

A little cowbell action for the marathon and half marathon runners.

All that cheering was very tiring. Davis had to crash out at the finish line. You can't see it but Davis has some scrapes down the front of his face. He fell off a basketball he was sitting on and looks pretty tough now.
Here are Mommy and Miss Rhonda after the race. They were so happy to be finished. But we think they had a great time. Good job Mommy.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Luke and Mimi hosted another great party. This time for Daddy. He turned 34. Luke and I helped him blow out his candles.

The ocean cake and birthday set up. They had all of the bases covered. Though, Daddy and I had to make a few homemade party hats. They turned out pretty good too.
Daddy got some good loot. Wii games and Blue Ray movies. Luke, Mommy and I got him a basketball goal (that we call a basketball court) and enrolled him in a fishing rod building class. Can't wait to see how that goes.

After yummy chicken and dumplings and the ocean chocolate cake Daddy pulled out the Ipod and we had a dance party. Luke was showing off his "booty" dancing that he claims he learned from Alvin and the Chipmunks.

I tried a little break dancing myself. All the cousins were dancing and Mimi too. Fun night. Happy, Happy Birthday Daddy.

Luke - 42 Months

This about sums me up lately! I'm all over the place. Here I am beating my tackling dummy to smitherines. Seriously, that dude lasted one day. I bought him with my own money too. I'm pretty aggressive. Trying to find an outlet is not always this easy. I am pushing the limits with the names I call people. PickleHead and Pocketfull of Mushrooms are two of my favorites. I have a keen sense of direction and even told Daddy when we were close to my doc's office all the way into Houston. I love riding my bike and playing outside. Because it has been so rainy I haven't had so much time to do it. That makes it more special. I'm getting so tall (and skinny). I have been sleeping so well lately. I hardly wake up before 7 anymore. Mom and Dad have been waiting a long time for that! I can get my own food, water, and clothes. I actually like dressing myself, especially if I get to wear a tie or my cowboy boots or soccer cleats. I'm keenly aware of the things adults talk about (whether they like it or not). I LOVE Phineas & Ferb marathons (that seem to be on every single day). Mom even got me a P&F shirt. I love it. I've been making a list of toys I want for my birthday while at the same time playing with all my Christmas toys. Looking forward to warm weather and Nash's arrival. See ya soon!

Davis: 20 Months

Happy New Year!
I am sad to see the holiday season slip away. I still love belting out a Christmas Carol or two. Especially the song from Luke's holiday program "Happy Birthday Jesus." Now that is a song! Enjoy my picture above because lately I haven't looked so clean. I have a drippy nose and drooling mouth. All 4 of my incisors are coming in at the same time. Luckily that will fill the holes in my mouth but otherwise it is a mess. Not to mention sometimes, even when I am drooling I have a runny nose and croupy cough. What gives? It has been about 2.5 months of this nonsense. I'm tired of being snotty. I'm starting to sleep longer in my own bed. If I do happen to make it into mommy and daddy's bed before the night is over then I take it over. Mommy almost fell out of the bed the other night after I gave her a swift kick in the neck and guts. I teeter between wanting to be big and liking being a baby. I let you know what mood I am in by saying "I big boy" or "I baby!" I'm really starting to play with Luke and can help him do some of his constant activities. This leads to a little more violence between us than it used to but Mom and Dad think that is only going to get worse. I am still in my Daddy phase and really only snuggle up to him. I saw my first movie this month, "Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Squeakel". I slept for the first hour and enjoyed the last 40 minutes. I was pretty good. Luke and I even danced for part of it. I love to throw my elbow up and get a few moves in. This trip gives Mommy hope that we can see more movies in our future. We are back to school and I am so happy to have some time away from Luke. I really like those few hours every week. I am saying lots and lots of sentences. Sometimes I blow mommy and daddy away with what I say. Just today I told Daddy that I missed him when he was out of town. I have even picked up some slang. So don't be alarmed if I call you "Pickle head" or "pickle face". Archie and I have been playing together a lot since it has been so cold. That dog is something else. He has no boundaries. I waiver between love and hate with him, mainly depending on how mommy feels about him that minute (and it clearly can change every mintue with Archie). Well, enough from me. Hope you are all having a wonderful start to the new year. Talk soon,
Davis

Merry Christmas Pals!

[Editors' Note from Mom- so sorry these are out of order but I'm tired and lacking in creativity].
What? You've never seen an 19 month old steal his brother's skate board and ride down the driveway?

One of Luke's first projects on his Handy Manny tool bench. Please notice his reddish face. Mommy sprayed him accidentally with his red dot painter. Also notice that he believes his new swim goggles are safety glasses for use only around the above mentioned Handy Manny work bench.

Brittany practicing to be a sell out longhorn fan in her second favorite Christmas gift, a UT hoodie.

One of Mimi's favorite gifts (from Mimi and Luke).

See Knock Knock and Michael Patrick sometimes get along.

A fun ride in cousin Ryan's new wagon drawn by cousin Ashley.
Peek a boo. I can't believe my mom put this on the blog and made me comment on it. On another note, I got a super cool cape with my name on it in that box you see there in the picture. Now I can be as cool as Super Luke.

Pappy continued his Deal or No Deal tradition. Big Brother got $5 and I got $20. Daddy got $20 and Mommy got $5. Aunt Marsha got Mommy's original envelope that had $100.

Anxiously awaiting the younger kids chance to open our envelopes. Luke already put his winnings in his brand new wallet that Santa brought him.

The Montgomery-Divver children put on a concert this year instead of their traditional Christmas sheep play. Brittany sang on her brand new karaoke , Kyle played his trombone (and he got a guitar for Christmas) and Ashley rocked the piano. Big Brother actually got to tickle a few keys of the piano too. And he sang on the karaoke machine.

Here is our "JOHN DEERE TRACTOR" also known as our Gator. Mommy and Daddy thought we were so good, they got us this awesome toy. I was first to drive while big brother practiced skate boarding. I drove so much that I actually fell asleep driving Christmas morning. I don't really steer, I just push the pedal and hope for the best. Luke can really drive this bad boy. He puts it in fast mode, slow mode, and reverse. He also stops often to pick up debris. This helps my desire to constantly be driving. I haven't had as many fits on the driveway since we got it.

Check out my loot from Santa.

And Luke's loot from Santa. But note, Luke is most proud of his SWORD. That he got from Santa. That he saw in Santa's bag while tracking him on NORAD.

The first of many showdowns for the skateboard.

Mimi and Buddy gave us bean bag chairs. We love them. Hope you all cleaned up like we did and had an awesome time with your families during this holiday season. One other historical note, we attended the children's mass on Christmas Eve. Big Brother slept through it on the pew and woke up just in time for his communion blessing. I screamed for M&Ms and whacked family and strangers with the kneelers through the entire mass. Pray for better behavior next Christmas!

Me Want Cookies

Sue Sue resurected an old Davison family tradition. The cousins used to get together and make Christmas cookies with their Nina. Sue Sue made Nina's old sugar cookie recipe. We helped roll them out, used cookie cutters and then decorated. Veronica and Tia were there to help too.

This picture makes us look so much more obedient and calm than we really are (ever).

TA-DA!

Yipee Sue Sue

We are so proud of Sue Sue. She graduated the weekend before Christmas. It was our first graduation. We enjoyed it but boy was it cold. They had the ceremony at Minute Maid Park on a blustery morning. But the popcorn and hot chocolate warmed us right up.

Funny thing. Those flags on the left kept blowing down in the wind and hitting the people in front of them. Mommy thought that was hilarious. Every time.

Sue Sue's fan club.

More of the fan club.
And more of the fan club. We were all so proud of her. Then we had a big partay at her friend Lauren's house with lots of yummy food. Some made by me and little brother. Congrats Sue Sue. Can't wait to see you on week nights.

Luke - 41 Months

Ho, Ho, Ho Internet.

How goes it? I'm busy as busy can be. I've been gearing up for this super fun holiday season for a while. I'm so much more mature this year. I don't call St. Nick Mr. Ho Ho anymore. Instead, I call him Santa Clause. I also love the movie the Santa Clause (and the main character, Scott Calvin). I like Christmas lights and picking out presents. I am leary of Little Boy, our Elf on the Shelf. I worry every mornign that he is not coming back. I look forward to my advent calendar ever night. I get most of the numbers right on the first try. I had my Christmas program at school and learned three new songs (sort of). I already got my new nutcracker from Mimi. It is a skater dude. Oh, and we have the train set up in my room. Davis is still too little to put it around the tree. Daddy and I play with the sword almost every night. I already met with Santa. I told him my most important wish- to have a new sword. I talk about swords a lot. I am into making up names. Mommy doesn't always approve. My favorite name is "Picklehead". I like the cold weather and wearing my coat, hat and gloves. I got a new coat that is just for "big boys". I love that Davis is getting bigger so we can wrestle and play. I think he might be bigger than me one day soon.

Well enough about me.

Happy Holidays,

Luke

Happy Birthday Jesus

I had my first ever school holiday program this year. It was called "Happy Birthday Jesus" and we sang songs for Jesus birthday and had a big party. My 3 year old class was the "choir" for a few of the songs.

I was so excited to see Mommy and Daddy at the program.

Here we are adding a few moves to our song.

The after party in the classroom. See our birthday hats? We also had cupcakes and party food.

Then we had a book exhcnage. Check out this chaos. It was a great time. I am happy to be on my break but looking forward to going back to my class in January.

The Man in Red

Santa. Ohhh Santa. Where are you Santa?

We are patiently waiting for you to arrive on Christmas Eve. We have our matching festive PJs. We have Elf on the Shelf reporting to you weekly. We have been trying not to use our swords as weapons. We are ready for you to show up! (Davis is ready for you too, he was just having a moment).

Speaking of moments... on the spur of the moment last weekend, when it was rainly and dreary and Daddy and Mommy were hacking up their lungs and with Daddy's fever controlled by meds, we headed out for an attempt to find Santa. We ended up at Bass Pro because it seemed like the easiest thing for my parents to do. On the way, I told them, to avoid any later confusion, that I would not sit on Santa's lap. I would politely stand a few feet away from him and scream my list his way. Davis piped up and said "I do it" " I sit with Santa". Davis was pretty jazzed. I didn't tell him that despite best efforts it is hard not to cry around the guy in red.

The line was a little long so we had to try out some toys. This one was rad but they did not have the batteries charged. (WINK).

Finally, we made our way up the line. I started to read my list to Santa (yes that is my list on the clipboard so we can find it easily) and he just scooped me up on his lap. I was freaked out but was brave. Davis, the big talker, ended up discovering that Santa is scary to 18 month olds. Let's just say that Davis had a very short visit with Santa. I stayed longer to make sure he really understood my list which includes a sword.

Party On Nash

Mommy and Sue Sue hosted a shower for baby Nash. See him in there in Tia's tummy? He is still cooking until February.

Here are the yummy desserts they had at the party. I got to try some later that day and thought they were super yum.

Tia got a lot of good loot. See Nash has a changing table pad now. And look at Tia's helper Ashley back there. Doesn't she look so grown up?

Happy Holidays from the Jingle Bell Rocker,

I dig this holiday season thing. I love the music, the decorations, the Christmas trees, all of it. I can start the songs for Jingle Bells, and Happy Birthday Jesus, the song from Luke's school program. I have had a language explosion. I am saying 4 and 5 word sentences. I ask questions like "What's that noise"? and "Wanna piece of me"? I am very mobile and becoming more agile. I still cannot jump but I try often. I love to shoot hoops on the kiddie goal. Last weekend Daddy caught me playing and singing Twinkle, Twinkle little star at the same time. I play with Luke a lot and can chase him and wrestle with him. I am Daddy's boy. My whole attitude changes when Daddy walks in. I love to eat Life Cereal every morning and drink the milk out of the bowl. I really like "driving" and I throw huge fits if you don't let me have your keys and play in the front seat of your car. I'm big into money and gathering coins from anyone I come across. We have Elf on the Shelf again this year and I love to find him all around the house each morning. I laugh and call him funny when I see him and then threaten to "touch him" in my scariest voice. I like to take inventory of the Christmas decorations on the tree and point out the characters that I know. I really didn't dig the meeting with Santa like I thought I would but that hasn't stopped me from hollering out to him every time I see him. I do know the reason for the season is baby Jesus and I also holler out to him every time I see a nativity scene. Looking forward to all the Christmas festivities. Happy Holidays!

Ho, Ho, Ho,
Davis

Snow Day

Check it. It snowed in Pearland again. Like really snowed. Big snowman in the front yard snow. We have all been so sick so our time in the snow was limited. But, Mimi did help us make a super fly snowman. Most of the neighbors made them too and people were driving by and taking pictures. It was fun. And COLD.

Doesn't look like Southeast Texas, does it?

You can't even see my shoes in this picture. It was actually deep. The weather dude said we got 2.5 inches. In Pearland. Seriously.

Snowballs hurt, but we threw them anyway.
A quick picture of our new tree. It is smaller than our old tree but still looks pretty. And all of its lights work. Jingle Bells!

Holiday Fun Times

We had so much fun celebrating with our friends over the holiday weekend but I had to take a little break and chill in between trips to Mimi's and helping Daddy with all of our chores.

Big Brother had a goofy break too. Here he is showing off his favorite sword.
I really like driving. I demand driving often. Here I am taking Tia for a spin.
Tim really wanted to climb this tree at Mimi and Buddy's. Guess he finally pulled it off.
Too much pie and too much time! Aren't they silly?

Happy Thanksgiving

Mommy and I made a lot of stuff for the big gobble day including this pumpkin cheese ball. We also made pumpkin bread pudding, lemon cookies, and a veggie tray. Yummy.

The big game was Thanksgiving this year. We had Revellie in full effect. The Ags played a good game (but not good enough, Pappy would say).

Gig 'Em Aggies.
Post turkey nap time. Mimi and Buddy had a huge crowd for dinner. After we ate, we took a little rest.
Burning my turkey calories! We had a great holiday. Hope you all did too!

DMB's 2nd and Much Needed Haircut

So, I've been looking a little shaggy. Mommy and Daddly love my fine hair but even they admit it was time for a little trim. Doesn't help that people were starting to ask if they were EVER going to cut my hair.

The before pic. I wasn't feeling that well on haircut day. Kind of in a daze with a cold. It actually worked in my favor.

I sat super still and trance-like waiting for the cut to be over.

Voila! Not the best after pic but I promise it looks a lot better. A nice clean little boy cut. This picture does capture how cruddy I feel. I'm looking forward to being snot free soon.

Chilly Time

Where to begin? Buddy, Daddy, Michael Patrick, Tim and PacMan build a fire in the fire pit the night before Thanksgiving. It was chilly that night and the fire warmed us right up. We had a good time hanging out by teh fire. Michael Patrick and his friend slept in a tent by the fire and I hung out with them up until my bed time. I think I am ready for a camping trip in the near future. So, we have a question? Which picture do you think is the silliest? The one at the top where Michael Patrick, Daddy and PacMan are photo bombing? The one of Tia the Teapot? Or the one of Zeus lookin glike he is licking Daddy's rear end?

Room Service

So we are a little spoiled. What 18 month old and 3 year old aren't? This is going overboard though, even for us. In mid November we went to Austin with Mommy and Mimi for a bankruptcy conference. Well, we didn't go to the conference but Mommy did. We hung out with Mimi and Tia. The start of the fun was room service at the Four Seasons. It was 5 star delish. I had pancakes. Davis had cheerios and Mimi had a bagel. We had two pots of hot chocolate too. It was awesome. And so pretty and nice. So when we came home all that I could talk about was room service. Veronica stepped up and brought a big pot of hot chocolate to our house one morning. I was already downstairs so I ran up to my room and acted like I was asleep. It was fantastic. I think we will have a new standard for hotel stays. It must have room service.

Luke 40 Months

Hey, it's holiday season and I am all over it.

Halloween was a BLAST. I thought that I would only want to trick-or-treat on our street but had to make the block since it was early and I was raking in the candy. I really enjoyed handing out candy with Mimi and even volunteered to dip into my stash when we started running low. Dad and I ran over to see my aunts, uncles and cousins down the street and crash Kyle's party. Ryan was rocking his penguin costume and Uncle Rob was dressed like a..... uh..... it's hard to describe....., let's just say that he changed out of his costume early.

I'm having concerns right now since some neighbors have started putting out there Christmas decorations and "it's not even Thanksgiving time yet!" I'm pumped for Christmas and love telling you what I want for Christmas, which is basically anything that is in a catalog that you put in front of me. I really want a Handy Manny tool bench, Spiderman, Transformers and science stuff. Also, I don't call him "Mr. Ho Ho" anymore, his name is "Santa".

I'm getting better at riding my bike and have been riding to the park with Dad and brother. I really don't know how to use the brakes but I love to show you how I can ride with no feet.

My favorite movie for the last few months has been Hook (you know the one where Robin Williams is Peter Pan). I'm full of quotes and will challenge you to a fight any time that I find a sword laying around.

My first soccer season ended last week. I enjoyed my time with the YMCA Orange Crabs, but what I really love is my TROPHY! I carried it everywhere for three days and my folks are just glad that it survived without any damage. I'll show it to you next time that I see you.

Every night Daddy and I practice speaking spanish to each other and have really been working on counting. Next, we tackle colors.

Mom's going to add pictures tomorrow so check back.

HAPPY TO YOU PAPPY!

Today is Pappy's Birthday! A big birthday. We sure missed seeing him on his birthday but know he had a great time with all the cousins. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Pappy. Happy Birthday to you.

Love,
Luke and Davis

Tia's Quincenera x 2

Tia's party pic at her party. Isn't that cool?

Sue Sue and Tim at the party.

Sue Sue and Tim got Tia a pinata. I got to whack it. And, I got almost all the loot from the pinata. There was candy, toys and something yummy called Mexican pudding? It tastes just like icing.
Davis whacked the pinata too. Then he took the big stick and whacked me on the head. It embarassed me and hurt like no other.
Tia had THREE cakes. 3. Her friend made this one. She also had brownies and tres leches.

I was kind of tired before the party got started but then I warmed right up. Right up. I used my best saying multiple times. Wanna hear it? "Peace and Chicken Grease!". Like it? I can say it to you multiple times.

Family pic. And yes, Mommy's dress was that short. She and Sue Sue dressed alike. They were Tia's court. Everyone was dressed so cute and fun. We had a great time. Just check out these pics.

Ahhh.

The Davisons, with a little Byman sneak in.

Davis was bartending for a little while. Mommy and Daddy saw this as a sign that we needed to go back to the hotel. Veronica babysat us there. It was a great time. Great time. Happy to you Tia.

Davis 18 Months

Holy Cow, I'm a big boy now. Just look at me. I can hold lizards, all by myself. I'm not scared at all. Of anything. I even almost touched a snake that slithered into our house the other day. I am in that funny, funny stage where nothing is funny and nothing is as I want it to be. I whine a lot to try to get what I want. But when I am happy I am pretty darn cute. I still have my serious face but if you tell me not to smile I break out in a huge grin. I say lots and lots of words now. I say multiple word statements like "Let me do it," "Give it to me," and "I don't know." I like to dance and demand for mommy, luke and daddy to sing to me. I am not very into sharing but I'm learning and trying thanks to my first brush with punishments (that involves being put into my crib when I act up). I went to the doctor for my check up (and hopefully to avoid swine flu). I weigh 27.6 lbs (50-75%), I'm 33 inches (75%); and my head is 20 inches (97%). We celebrated Tia's birthday this past weekend and it turns out that I'm also a natural born bartender. I stocked the cooler with beer. Handed the beer to the guests and offered them the bottle opener. All wtih a very serious face. Very serious. I love school and don't cry at all when I get dropped off. Looking forward to one more trip to Austin this month and turkey day. Talk to you all soon.

-Davis (also known to refer to myself as Mimi, Veronica or Luke)

Happy to You, Sue Sue

We celebrated Sue Sue's 27th birthday on Sunday at Mimi's house. We had turtle soup and a cake that Mommy and I made.

Sue Sue got a guitar for her birthday from Tim. It doesn't have legs, those are mine.
Here is the cake Mommy and I made for Sue Sue. It is supposed to be a pumpkin but I think that the bundt pan is to wide in the middle? And Mommy drew the leaf backwards. No one cared. It was a really yummy cake.
Sue Sue loved my high volume rendition of Happy Birthday to You. Davis is responsible for the title. He doesn't every say "Birthday". Just "Happy to You".
What is a day at Mimi's without bubbles? Hope you had a great birthday Sue Sue.

Boo! - Byman Style

Mommy's work started a new tradition and let kids come up to trick or treat. We did that on Friday. It was awesome. We met so many cool people and got SOOO much candy. Our buckets were filled, FILLED to the top.

After trick or treating we got to have a snack with milk in the TK kitchen. It was so fun to see what and where Mommy spends her days. Even Mimi came. People were as excited to meet her as they were to meet us. Something about figuring out where Mommy gets her personality!

We also had our fall festival at school. It was super fun. Mommy got to help with Luke's class but not mine. Apparently that would be way to traumatizing for the 1 year old class. Here is a pic of Luke's class, minus Audrey, Leah and Teagan.
There was face painting at the fall festival. Luke and his buddies were all tigers.
See the "Go Fish" booth in action?
On Halloween day we woke up asking if it was time to trick or treat. Mommy and Daddy were desperate for something to eat up the hours of the day so they found a little fair at the church down the street from our house. They were hosting a Pumpkin Chunkin and Fair. Luke got to try Balloon Darts for the first time and actually popped one. He is a stud!
There was a magic show. Here big brother is working his magic finger and saying the magic words. That worked everytime.
The church had ponies. I think this was my first pony ride. I held my stress ball (made at the festival) and the saddle for the entire ride.

Luke rode a pony too. All by himself. He is just so big now (that is what Mommy and Daddy say when they think we can't hear them).
The catapult for the pumpkin chunkin'. It was awesome and huge.
Here I am getting ready for trick or treating. Am I seriously cute, or what?

Big Brother was an astronaut. We didn't have a moon prop so he posed next to our tree in the front yard.
Here is what I was supposed to be for Halloween this year. Mommy finally took pity on my soul and future self confidence and switched me to the skunk costume.

See how bad this is. Really. Mommy still says it was cute. Daddy think she is insane (about this costume and many other things).

Here we are with some of our neighbors. About to trick or treat. We are hyped. Not that you can tell by my face. I was tired already and not sure why we kept stopping at every house just to get more candy. Seriously, we had a huge back at our own house AND all the candy from Mommy's office.

Luke and my friend Cannon from school who lives right behind us. Isn't his costume adorable too?

Look at our Mimi. She was a good, green witch because she had glitter on her face. She visited with every single trick or treater (shocking for those who know her, right?).
Mimi was pretend scaring the bejesus out of Luke. Aren't they good actors?

Another Mimi picture. Isn't this a great costume? For the record, Mommy wanted this at the top of the post but she is too worn out to figure out the inverse posting principles tonight.
Hope you enjoyed the chronicles of our busy Halloween festivities.

Here, There, Everywhere

A cousin Ryan pic is long overdue on the blog. So here you have him! We have another little boy cousin on the way. Check out Tia's blog (link on the side) for information on the arrival of baby Rad in February. (Rad is just a nickname, allegedly).

Melmo.
Modeling our new Halloween shirts that Miss Jackie made. We love them. Here we were getting ready to wear them to Dewberry Farms. We went there with Thomas and his Mom and Dad. It was unreal crowded but we had a great time.

A Saturday morning spent watching "kid shows" in the living room. A weekend only luxury!
Another pumpkin patch near our house. They will have a pumpkin chunken on Halloween. Should be cool.
Dewberry Farms picture. Instead of a trampoline or bounce house, it has these big balloon tarps right on the ground. It was fun. See me and Thomas?

Davis and me in the haystack. I'm actually down in a whole while he sits on top.

Pseudo Shaving party with Daddy and Davis.

Davis shaving. He was so happy that daddy took the picture upside down. He knows cool stuff.

Party Times

You can't tell but I'm really in a good mood. I'm always in a good mood when I have my boots on!

We asked Mommy to take our picture in the chair. Then we screamed "CHEEEESE!"
No explanation.

Big brother totally loved this slide at Jackson M's birthday party. He must have gone down it 50 times.

I loved the bounce house. You could jump and then go down the slide and then throw big bouncy balls back up at the bounce house. We love bouncy birthday parties.

Father Son Project

Daddy and I started a project for my school's Fall Fest about 3 weeks ago. The school needed a new "go fish" booth. The old one was lame. We made a frame and then put in masonite panels. We were worried paint wouldn't stick to the masonite so I sanded it to rough it up a little.

Then for the fun part. Davis, Daddy and I painted the masonite panels blue like the ocean. We had to do two coats and then some touch ups.

Davis is actually a very good ocean painter.

Here is the front once Daddy and Mommy drew the animal and plant life.
This is one of the sides. The other side has a cute crab but we ran out of space on the blog!

39 Months Old

Hi there,

It's me Luke. I'm 39 months old. I'm getting so big and tall and mature. I help Mommy and Daddy with stuff around the house and projects. I've been picking up on everything that is said on tv and in grown up coversations. This has led me to say things like "That's all part of the plan, more or less" (from Special Agent Oso) and "heck yes" (from Daddy). We've been kind of sick this past week so I missed a day of school. But otherwise, I think school is going well. Mommy and Daddy are trying to get me to talk about my day in the afternoons. I really don't like to do that but to make them happy I'm paying more attention to what I do during the day so that I can report back. I've been going to a lot of birthday parties lately. I am a big fan of the bounce house parties. I also missed a soccer practice last week because I'm sick but otherwise have really liked it. We even played a little scrimage the other day. I stayed in bounds the whole time. I might have been the only kid who stayed inside the lines. 3 year old soccer is fun. I've been helping Daddy with a project in the garage. Stay tuned for more pictures of that soon. See you next month.

Luke

17 Months

I'm 17 Months old. It's been a busy month. I'm really getting the hang of school. I like to say my teachers' names and all of my classmates names. I like to whisper secrets to Mommy and Daddy and I'm really starting to joke around with them. I moved to the booster seat at the table with the family. I love the booster seat. I'm still quite the eater but I'm learning when I really am hungry and when I'm not I push my food away. I'm talking up a storm. I say "I don't know" and "What's up". I like to voice my commands like "Sit", "Come [with] me" and "Eat." I love puzzles. I do them better than Luke because I'm patient. I love books and want to read 5 or 6 at a time. I'm getting better at fighting back when Luke assaults me. I'm also learning to guard my toys. I've broken the horrible habit I had of screaming bloody murder to get attention. About one more month of the paci (or so my folks say). I am getting psyched for Halloween. When we pass decorations in the car I say "Halaeeeen". I'm not sure about my costume yet but will keep you posted. See you soon.

Davis

Sneak Peak

We had our school pictures last week. They take our pictures together too. So we dressed alike. It was my first time for pictures. I was counting on Luke being a good example but he was miffed because Mommy made him wear a belt. In this picture he was really faking but it looks good.

I'm really perfecting my camera smile. Can't you see my face on a political ad in the future?
I told you he was miffed at Mommy.
Cheese!

Davis "Elton John" Byman

Elton John, right?

Full effect- Elton John with Cars galoshes.

Bonus picture- this is Davis trying out his first Oreo. We assume Elton John likes Oreos too.

Can you feel Mommy and Daddy Smiling

Davis has been using the potty before bath time for the past two weeks. Just the possibility of no diapers sometime in the future has my folks grinning from ear to ear.
