10 years ago today...

For all the old timers, Matt and my first date was ten years ago today. Ten years! To celebrate, Matt is working late and I am folding clothes! Ten years (but only married two)- has flown by! We are ready for the next ten- Right Matt?

Ready for his T.O. press conference

Don't worry T.O., I believe you. Lots of intelligent people mix pain killers with "natural supplements" and have to be rushed to the emergency room. I wear my blue star in solidarity with you, T.O. Everyone else seems to be speaking out on this today, so I will too.

11 Weeks Old

The fortune: A suprise will appear in my pants. Luke is developing a sense of humor as he gets older. He is also learning to laugh at his mom and dad. The laughs are getting louder and more real. We have even heard two squeals. Luke celebrated much of his 11 week birthday by sleeping because he was up much of the night before- just for kicks.

Hanging out at Buddy and Mimi's

Buddy is holding me while mom, Tia and Sue Sue paint my nursery at Buddy and Mimi's house. Buddy let me watch football for a little bit. I could hear Sue Sue singing to everyone- I think it was Vanilla Ice. "Yo Vanilla, Kick it one more time...boys"

Chillin' by the power tools- we went to buy paint but could not pass up the chance to take Luke's picture by the good stuff.*

*For the record, Matt was out of town fishing and regrets that Luke's first trip was for paint and not something much cooler like toggle bolts or a torque wrench. Also for the record, Matt says these are not powertools.

I cannot resist- this picture cracks me up. His Astros hat looks like a beret. What a cutie.

I paid $20 and all I got was this nasty beat up box?

You have got to be kidding me. I hated to pay the $20 in shipping and handling that Exposures was requiring, but I did- and this is how the box shows up. What a joke. Even Pottery Barn has better shipping and customer service. And you know how hard that is for me to say!

Babies and Ladies day at the Astros Game

The group at the Astros game. That is Luke, all the way at the end with the big yellow paci in his mouth. He was taking a paci on Wednesday. Thursday is a new day!

Braden and Ainsley (and their moms) were enjoying the game, way at the other end of the row. Luke could barely see them.

Astros Fever

Yay! I am going to the Astros game. We have great seats, club level and parking right at the door. I won't break a sweat because it is a pleasant 85 degrees in Houston today, I am wearing my sweatproof batting practice uniform and we have such great accomodations.

I think I like hats!

I cannot wait to see Dana and Braden, Meric and Ainsley, Farrell and Keegan, Sarah and Cody, and Leigh and Julia. It is playgroup at the ballpark.

We made it! Luke saw Clemens last pitch in the MLB- it was quite emotional and the only time he cried at the game. He is clearly a baseball fan. Obviously the months of listening to Milo on the way home from work infulenced this little guy.

I'm so close, if only this pointer finger would get out of the way. I can't seem to get l-thumb in my mouth without pointer getting in the way.

Saturday...

What a busy day! First, Luke woke up to play with Sue Sue. She spent the night to help mom while dad was hunting in Abilene (he killed a bunch of dove). Then mom's friends Jeremiah and Chavez (the goofball pictured above) came to hang out and visit the metropolis of Manvel. Archie claims Chavez as his friend and was not going to share nicely. Luke then went to his first birthday party. Thomas down the street was turning 1. Unfortunately, Luke slept in mom's arms for almost the entire party- no cake or ice cream for either of us. Then, after a rice cereal bottle we headed to Mimi's to see Veronica and Michael Patrick. They are having a school fundraiser so mom bought a bunch of wrapping paper. Finally, after another rice cereal bottle we headed back to Manvel, with Mimi in tow. Mimi put Luke to sleep before 9 and went to sleep herself. Mom tried to stay awake for the Aggie game but fell asleep in the 3rd quarter. Somehow the Aggies pulled it off though- who knew beating Army would be such a battle.

Friday

On Friday I took Luke to the doctor to see if we could find a solution to his "congestion" problem. It seemed to Matt and I, as first time parents, that he could not clear the phlegm in his throat. We are such rookies- the doctor quickly assessed that he was not congested but instead, had reflux. So, the little guy is now armed with a prescription of Zantac and I am adding rice cereal to his bottles (at least two a day) to help keep the milk down in his tummy and not in his throat. Poor guy.

The doctor weighed him when we were there- at 9.5 weeks he weighs 13 lbs 5 ounces (with a clean diaper on). Such a growing boy.

We also went to visit TK on Friday. The countdown is now on. I go back to work in 15 days.

Luke went to visit Thompson & Knight on Friday. He saw almost the entire bankruptcy section and finally got to met his friend Patty. He was impressed with the wahoo hanging in mom's office. Mom even changed Luke's diaper on her desk. That will give her something to laugh at when she returns to her office. Mom needs a picture of Luke on her bare wall too!

Buddy is warming up to his grandson. Luke was crying and Buddy calmed him down. Score one for Buddy.

Picture Day

My elusive smile, coupled with a wave. A double treat for mom. Mom had to read three books to get this kind of reaction.

Luke posed for pictures with a real photographer all morning and hardly smiled this big. We did get some cute naked baby pictures to torment him with as a teenager.

Luke's new friends Mary and William. William is 5 months old. It is amazing what a difference 3 months makes. He really played on Luke's play mat.

This is what we call "Milk Drunk." When you see this face, you are looking at one well fed baby. Tonight Matt fed Luke a bottle and got to experience the joy himslef. Isn't it adorable?

Today is my birthday

I'm two months old today. To celebrate, I went with mom to California Pizza Kitchen. We met mom's friend Jen and got to see Shari, Brooke and Brennan again.

To the Texans Game

Dad and I are tailgating with Angus and Chris. Their spot is kind of far from where we parked so I got a quick nap in the Baby Bjorn. My nap helped prepare me for the craziness of the football game. It is LOUD in there.

I can get used to this tailgating thing.

I'm hanging out with dad before the game started. There are some fun people that sit around the Georges' seats. Everyone thought I was adorable.

I decided to take a nap so mom held my ears for me. Did we mention how LOUD it is in Reliant Stadium? The cotton fell out around halftime.

At halftime we went to see Mimi and Buddy- they were sitting at the 50 yard line. We also saw Dylan Loving and his dad. Unfortunately, the Texans got pressured in the third quarter and could not recover. David Carr got sacked a lot and Mario Williams really did not show up like we thought he would (and he should). When we got home, we saw that Reggie Bush really had a good game --- in New Orleans.

WHOOP!

The Aggies crushed U la-la today. I cannot help but think that Luke's maroon outfit helped bring on the win. Hopefully he can bring the same luck to the Texans. Did you know that if the Texans win tomorrow:

Playdate and Shower for Molly

The lawschool ladies with babies. Barry and Molly tiredly watched us all get ready for this picture and helped all the moms out immensely. All 4 kiddos will be in the same grade in the future (Go Class of '28). Hard to believe. So funny we spend a few minutes to get a picture of the kids but did not take 30 seconds to get a picture of the grown ups. Priorities!

Mrs. Hochmuth bought Luke this cute hat. It is a little big but it reminds mom of a Goofy doll. Luke hardly realized it was on. Keegan was not as fond of his yet.

Matt hung out with Miss Hannah before the party got started.

The big kids got to play with all the cool toys. Luke can't wait to play too. He slept through a lot of the playtime.

Bedtime Story

Yay a new book- Kiss Good Night. Mom cropped this picture so you can't see how huge her thighs are now. Check out the hamhock of an arm mom's sporting. On a happier note, Luke's chubby cheeks are adorable.

8 Week Accomplishments

Luke has learned and experienced a lot leading up to his 8th week:

• Learned to pick up and hold toys
• Learned to kick at toys hanging above him
• Crossed state lines into Louisiana to go shopping with Nana (we did not stop at the boats)
• Started sleeping at least 6 hours at a time (please Lord, don't let me have jinxed myself here)
• Sleeping in crib (exclusively) at night
• Learned to power nap- we only get 30 minutes at most
• Worked on neck muscles too- it is amazing how strong it is now and how long he can hold it up.

Luke is going to his first football game this weekend and an Astros game on the 20th. Also, major law school baby playdate going down on Saturday morning. Obviously, pictures will follow.

Luke is also excited to have had two baby girls born into his world in the last few weeks. Holly from mom's work had baby Kate a few weeks ago and Daddy's friend Cash and his wife Kim had baby Trinity earlier this week. Finally, some girls are joining the world.

Luke kicked his Whozit's hiney yesterday. He was swatting and biting at it. Then when he moved up the mat he started kicking it. He had some serious aggression for the Whozit. We apologize for no recent posts but Warner Cable had other plans for us. Three days without the internet almost killed mom.

You have a baby, in a bar?

We went to Alamo Drafthouse for Luke's first movie. It was the mommy matinee. We met Farrell and Keegan there.

Here we are outside our flick- Little Miss Sunshine. We were the only four in the theater. It was great, but a really loud for a baby at first. Keegan and I took naps and Mom and Farrell ate lunch. I don't know about Farrell, but Mom really liked the movie.

Road Trip to Marshall

Sweet sleeping boy. The car ride up on Friday was a little rough for Luke. He was in and out of a Tylenol stupor. He did sleep 6 hours every night and 7 hours on Sunday night. Yay Miracle Blanket!

This was right before Luke's first trip to Church. He slept through most of Sunday school and hung out in the nursery during church. He was very well behaved according to the sitters.

Welcome to Caddo Lake

Luke and Aunt Marsha were checking out the Runyan's new lake house.

Luke finally got to meet baby Ava. She is a babe! She knows how to crawl and can almost walk.

Luke got to see his buddy Cade again. Cade showed Luke how much fun stuff there is at the lake, especially the bean bag chairs.

8 Week Check Up (and Shots)

Luke was chilling out before his shots. He weighed in at 12.1 lbs and is now 23 inches long. So he gained a pound and grew one inch. He did not have such huge gains like last month so he has dropped in the percentages. He is now 85% in weight and 55% in height (the Davison's genes are kicking in). His head is 50% Thata boy- don't overachieve too much! Unfortunately, he had to get 4 shots. He did not know what he was in for.

Immediately post shots. Luke was not a happy camper. Luckily, the tylenol kicked in right as we were leaving the doctor's office. Luke slept the whole way home.
