Organization

We are not sure what finally did it- was it the puzzle pieces in the couch? Or the pirate ship underfoot? Maybe it was the train tracks in every nook and crannie of the house? Whatever it was, Mom and Dad got super motivated to get our toys organized and put up. So, they ran out to the Depot and picked up some shelving. We helped Daddy install the shelves in the toy closet and the new hunting closet. Then we filled the toy closet with all of the best toys. Once we went to sleep, Mom and Dad did a thorough culling of the toys and now we are super organized. Yay.

Boys will be Boys

Davis and I were left outside for a few minutes this weekend so I decided to teach him how to spit. This was very empowering so I had to flex.

Davis was thrilled to know how to spit. Check out that spit lovin grin.
Daddy's most used tool/gadget- the air compressor. This bad boy gets more use than our microwave and that is saying something because you know how well our mom cooks.
Davis loved the slip n slide. See he does smile now.
A great spit if I do say so myself.

One man band and his groupies

Luke hosted a concert in his room last week. Mom and I attended. It was so loud with Luke's playing and Mom's cheering that I had to wear Luke's noise reduction ear phones. Notice the huge audience. All of Luke's pals were in attendance.

A close up of the music man in action.

More groupie photos.

Lukers

I am such a clown. Here I am hamming it up with my pal Braden at Mrs. Leigh's house. She has this cool turtle stool that I enjoyed riding as if it were a rodeo event.

Here I am at Uncle Matt's pre-birthday dinner at our house. I made him that cake, almost totally by myself. I think it was a hit. At least Uncle Matt liked it.

I'm teaching little brother some new signs. This pic is before my new haircut. It looks much less shaggy now. I promise.

Check out my sweet pipe cleaner crown. Do you know hom much cool stuff you can make with pipe cleaners?
This hat helps me channel my creative energies. So much so that I have been drawing, coloring and stickering up to 20 pages a day lately.

Many faces of Davis

I was having a fly swatter war with myself. The fly glasses helped me get in the mood. Kind of like fly camo. Check out my outfit. If you see me wearing this, you know it will be a dirty day. I will not be passing this onto a future cousin or neighbor.

Actually smiling. I am smiling more and more now. And yes, I love banging on the computer.
Another serious face. This one is wondering why on earth my cup is in a bread bowl. I'm sure Mimi is behind this.
This is the equivalent to my "What You Talking About Willis?" face. Also, sneak preview of Luke's Halloween costume for your viewing pleasure.

Here Batter Batter

Me, Luke, Daddy and Mommy went to the baseball game the other night. I haven't been since I was just a few months old. It was fun, especially when we made it up to the club level and I got to really run around.

Big brother had something going on that night. He got free stuff everywhere we went. First, a policeman on the field through him a souvenier ball. Then he got a free chocolate chip cookie. Lucky guy. He loved the game too. Not only being there but actually watching too. We stayed until the 7th inning and then headed home. Our Astros lost that night (shock) but we are cheering for a great rebuilding period.

Overheard

Luke: Mommy what are Bakugan? Animals or Robots?
Mommy: I don't know Luke, we may have to look it up.
Luke: Yeah, we should. On Bakugan.com?

Davis as he passes a piggy bank, an ATM machine or loose change on the ground: MUUUNNNEEEE.

The ATX

We went to visit Tia and PacMan this weekend while Daddy was fishing. Sue Sue came with us. I was into everything including PacMan's sun glasses. Notice my super clean PJs? They reflect the fact that we mainly ate the whole time we were there. All of the food was super yummy.

We also swam twice. First at Tia's gym. It had a cool activity pool. Then we went to the Paczosa's pool after naps. Here big brother is in pre-canonball form. He loves canonballs.

Check out my suntan lotion hair. I would rather organize beverages than swim.
Luke got to jump off the diving board. It is technically "broken" but Tia bent the rules for Luke.
Luke was pooped after all that swimming. But not me. I stayed up and let Tia and PacMan tickle me for about an hour. Note, there are no pictures of Sue Sue because she was sick and wouldn't let Tia or Mommy photograph her. Despite her snotty nose, she was a huge help to Mommy in the car and otherwise. It was a great time. Thanks Tia and PacMan for having us. Looking forward to visiting with your little munchkin in a few months.

Luke- 37 Months

Hidey Ho,

I'm a busy boy. I can hardly rest. I am building, pretending, bouncing, swinging, climbing, talking and eating 90% of the day. The other 10% I am fighting off sleep. Sleep is for pansies. I am so curious and love to ask grown ups lots of questions. I like to read books about dinosaurs, outer space, aliens and animals. I like to watch my "kid shows" on tv in the morning and sometimes in the afternoons too because it is so hot outside. My main accomplishment since last month is my amazing ability to swim. I am like a fish. I have so much confidence. I jump in and do cannonballs. I glide, I torpedo kick. I can do this by myself and with my life jacket. I swim in pools, the lake and the bath tub. I am helpful during the day and try to keep Davis out of trouble. I am trying hard to stop screaming. I also gave myself my first hickey this month. I like to dance and sing especially in the car. I've had a few rough nights the past month when the rainstorms come. I do not like rain storms. I really don't like thunder. Buddy got me some ear muffs that reduce loud noises and I wear them all the time when it rains. I'm full of clever sayings and keep Mommy and Daddy laughing and smiling. See you suckers soon!

Davis- 15 months

Hi Internet Friends,

It is me Davis, the Grumpasaurus. I've gotten so mobile and vocal in the last month but I get so frustrated when I can't get my point across. This frustration causes me to throw stuff, including myself, scream, hit, grunt and pinch. I can scream LOUD. Especially when I am frustrated. I've scaled back on how much I eat but I still ove all foods, chocolate milk and any snacks. I love to wrestle big brother for revenge and fun. I can use my head as a weapon and the palm of my hand. I've also learned an early lesson- don't hit your mommy or Mimi with the palm of your hand. It is not nice. I am learning to enjoy the pool more but I really wish that I could swim already. I like dressing up, playing with swords, watching cartoons with brother with a huge cup of warm chocolate milk and reading stories about monkies at night. I also love climbing- on chairs, the window seat, the couch, the play set outside and on people. I've enjoyed my roadtrips to Galveston, Surfside, Marshall and Austin this summer. I'm pretty good in the car as long as I have some pacis handy. Yes I still use my paci and I still hold it tucked in my bottom lip. I've heard Mommy and Daddy talking about something called Mother's Day Out (or in our case, Mimi's Day Out). I'm not sure what it is but I know brother is going there too so it should be tons of fun. We start early September. I'm soaking up the end of summer. Talk to you all in a few weeks.

East Texas 4 Wheeler Rides

Hi, Davis here to tell you about our fun summer trip to Marshall. This time it was just the Byman boys. We had Nana and Pappy to ourselves (with Mommy and Daddy). To commemorate our trip, Nana and Pappy bought this super cool 4x4.

I could not ride it very well so big brother had full control. He was handling the turbo power in no time.

The 4x4 experts and chaperones. Picture taken by Luke.
I did not appreciate the fact that Mommy would not share her camera with me. I let her know.

Much happier on my own 4X4. We had a great time in Marshall. Take a look at the pics below and stay tuned for my 15 month update in a few days.

Beam us up Sci-Port

We went to Sciport on Friday. It is like a mix between Space Center Houston and the Children's Museum. Mommy described it as one big, really good science fair. Here I am testing out the space suits. I will wear one of these when I blast off in the future.

Ahoy Matey Davis. Happy Seas.
I'm heavy.
A cool flash wall. Once the flash goes off, you can see my shadow on the wall with Daddy's shadow. Super cool.
Mommy is trying out the bed of nails. Really.

What happened to my Nana's body?

Pump me up. This thing was cool. It had a blast off feature that pushed the chair up in the air and then gently let it fall down. I rode this over and over and then again later again and again.
SciPort has a cool little kids' area where you can play in a fort, get your face painted, operate a tower crane, see ants in tunnels and plumb a bathroom. Davis was displaying that clearly construction genes are hereditary. He loved this exhibit. He arranged the pipes, cleaned them up, oraganized them. He was busy. While he did this, I helped haul tiles for the fort. I even used the tower crane.

Here and There in Marshall

It rained a whole lot when we were in Marshall. We like to make lemons out of lemonade around here (well, Mommy is working on it) so me and my friend Cade decided to take advantage of the East Texas mud and get DIRTY. It was super fun. After we got messy, we took a bath and after encouragement from our Dads we mooned our moms. Like father, like son for these two boys!

I got another dinosaur that reveals itself through a volcano. This was one was really cool because it was self contained and had LOTS of bubbles. The dinosaur is still growing in there today.

We went to check out the Humane Society of Harrison County where Aunt Sally spends a lot of her time. She worked really hard to get an awesome new building for all the animals. The kitty cats have their own room where they can play, sleep and look cute all day long. The kitty cats were our favorit part despite mommy's huge allergy and red welps!

Here Aunt Sally is showing me a new arrival- baby Coco. Mommy really liked that pup in the background ZeZe. Mommy hopes she finds a good home soon.

Gators and Friends

Davis here to tell you about our Saturday in East Texas. We went to Waskom to visit Gators and Friends. As the name indicates- there are lots of reptiles at this place. Check out that feeding freenzy. Looks a lot like me and brother eating dinner.

There were more than just reptiles. Look at brother feed this cute little zebra.

I even got in on the feeding action, right from my stoller. These goats could really stick their heads out.
This camel was huge. Huge. His neck reached way out from that fence.

Mommy was not impressed by this slobbery mammal.

Back to the reptiles, check this out. To the right, that kitty cat is grooming itself right by that aligator. WHAT? I heard Mommy ask Pappy- "Is that safe?" Pappy wasn't so sure... We finally decided the kitty must be a regular because that aligator never made a move toward it. Thank goodness.

I had had enough Gators and Friends as we waited for the feeding frenzy. Here is an example of my horizontal fit throwing.

Gators, gators, gators. These were the big daddy gators in the other pen. We hear they are fed chickens but we didn't get to see that. (thankfully, as brother and I really like chickens).

Lucky duck big brother got to hold a baby aligator with Nana. What a ham he is.
