Spring Break 2011

We had a busy Spring Break. We did swim classes and gymnastics. We also went to pick strawberries at a local farm. We picked and ate and picked and ate. Then we headed up to Marshall to visit Nana and Pappy. Aunt Michele, Ryan and Mary were also there. Then, Daddy, Uncle Rob, Aunt Marsha and Uncle Matt also came.

In Marshall we went to Build a Bear, saw the movie Rango, rode bikes, scooters, 4 wheelers, dunked our heads into the lake, threw rocks into the lake while pretending we were skipping them, saw the Super Moon, visited with a few friends and got bunnies!

Davis was a 4 wheeler riding machine. He scared us all the first day but once he learned all the rules he was good to go. I see a real 4 wheeler in Davis' future.

Introducing our new friends, Hop and Thumper (the black rabbit is Splat and belongs to Ryan). Pappy got us these rabbits at Tractor Supply. Aren't they adorable? As we speak Daddy is making them an awesome hutch. They are living the life!

Here is a picture of our Super Moon viewing party. We had an obstructed view but it was still pretty super (and big).

We had such a fun time in Marshall we didn't want to leave. So, we waited until nap time. Davis was ready to nap after a great Spring Break.

Mommy - 396 months (you do the math)

Mommy had a birthday during Spring Break. So she got to celebrate at Mimi and Buddy's before we went out of town and also in Marshall on her actual birthday. Lucky girl. She gave up sweets for Lent but is allowed to enjoy birthday related desserts. Here she is about to dig into a red velvet cake Mimi made.

Sue Sue and the rest of the family were there to celebrate in St. Patrick's style. Everyone was festive.

And here she is celebrating in Marshall. She was born on St. Patrick's day so we all have our green on. We are also drinking out of Shamrock straws. So cool. This cake was also yummy.

On her birthday we went to Build a Bear in Shreveport. We had never been before. We all insisted that Mommy make her own birthday build a bear. It plays the happy birthday song and has its own pot of gold!

Go Cardinals Tball 2011

So, I am finally, officially playing tball. I am on the Cardinals team through the YMCA. We have only had 3 practices and one game so far. We have a lot to learn but we have had a fantastic time so far.

My first at bat. I got a good hit but didn't run right away. I wasn't really sure what to do with that other team all running at me and my line drive ball. Eventually I made it to first base though.

I played 2nd base during the game. This is my "ready but confident you won't hit to me" pose. I've been told that I should have been standing a little bit taller. I will learn!

Rodeo Carnival Redux

We went back to the carnival to do the younger kid stuff the Friday before Spring Break. Ryan, Mary and Aunt Michele came with us. We had a great time. We got to do all the kid stuff including the farm to grocery store activity where you plant food, milk cows, harvest, sell your wares and buy a product. It was pretty cool. And we ended up with potato chips and rice krispie treats.

I got to drive this huge tractor during our activity. It had a huge TV in it. And air conditioning. It was very pleasant.

I took a long time in the tractor so Luke had his picture made on the wheel. He is so easy to please.

Somehow Luke convinced me to go down this huge bumpy slide with him. I don't know what I was thinking. I liked it until the very end and then I burst into tears. Oh well. Luke really enjoyed it.

Cousin Mary was happy as usual during our trip. Mom forgot to get pictures of our delish lunch. We chowed down. Then we saw an aardvark...really. It was a really cool day.

Luke- 56 Months

Hi pals,

Can you tell that is a picture of me with a bag on my head? I love to act silly like that. I am always putting on some costume or using some prop to be silly. Recently I even stripped down to my birthday suit in an effort to get a laugh but it really just made my mom mad! While I am not as big a fan of the star wars movies as Davis is, I do like to play Star Wars with my brother. We either pretend we are the characters or we play with Daddy's old Star Wars toys. I am really starting to look less like a little boy and more like an all out big boy. I love to ride my bike. I try to do it every single day. I am also really fast and skilled on my Razor scooter. I love playing outside especially when all the neighbors are outside. Like a big boy, I am starting to sleep a lot later in the mornings unless I am visited by Davis. I still sleep with my two bears, Browna and Brown Bear. I love them. I still have my fish, Luke Skywalker, that I got for Christmas. He lives in a tank in my bedroom. I am loving all of my activities, except swim lessons. I keep telling Mommy I know how to swim and I don't need lessons (I understand my protests have led to the end of swim lessons this month). I am really enjoying t-ball. It is so fun. We have only had one game but I look forward to the next. We have been learning so much. I also love my gymnastics class. I am a power dragon. I am learnign to do bars, horse, trampline and head and hand stands. I am getting really strong and may even increase my class to twice a week. My coach is a huge guy named Bryan. He is tough but very cool. I am still loving school. I have not had a conduct cut all year (we call that staying on the green). I am really looking forward to more beautiful spring weather so that I can keep playing.

Davis-- 34 Months

Wow, I cannot wait to drive. I almost started Mommy's car the other day. But on to less terrifying topics. I've been good, for the most part but when I'm bad, I'm really bad. My latest bad trick is to exclaim wildly that I do not have legs and that I cannot move, eat or make sense because I do not have legs. All of this is normally screamed while I am clearly standing up on my two solid, stable legs. I did say I'm good too. I am super sweet to my baby cousin Mary. I make a cute face to Mommy and Daddy when I am trying to get my way. I am using my manners when I remember. I am eating great, even mushrooms. I am singing lots of songs. Playing with light sabers, watching Episodes 1, 4, 5, and 6 of Star Wars. I quote from the movies and try to reenact them with Luke at night. I read my children's bible every single night. I read it to myself sometimes too. That will melt your heart....or so I have heard. I still sleep most of the night in my room and then go down to visit mom and dad really early. I sleep with my pals Ducky and Tiger but I could probably sleep without them too. I have enjoyed finally getting to go to church, real church, not the nursery. I really listen to the priests and exclaim wildly when I recognize the names or the stories. I did not really care for the ashes on Ash Wednesday but since then I have asked where the ashes are every time I get a communion blessing. I am loving my swim lessons. I did great in my two week swim camp and now I am trying to perfect my back float so I can be promoted from a goldfish to a dolphin. But I am ok being a goldfish for a while. I also like imitating Luke's gymnastics. I can do a forward roll sometimes and a table top. I love playing with all the neighbor kids. We play hide and seek, battle, basketball and race. We have the best neighbors. I really think I am as big as they are and no one really tells me otherwise (except Luke). Mommy is hoping to report on successful potty training next month...I'll see about that.

Davis

We Love You Selena (and the HLSR Carnival)

We made our annual trip to the Rodeo last weekend to see Selena Gomez. This year, we got to go with all of the big kids (Britt, Ash, MP and Veronica) and Mommy and Daddy. We got there at noon and got home at 7:30. Here we are before we left our house. We were so excited to go.

I actually got to ride some of the carney rides this year. Here I am about to go through a dark passage on a small roller coaster. This was my third ride to try and I was psyched.

It did not go as well as the others. There was some creepy man voice in the dark that said he was going to eat my brain (allegedly) and claimed he would get me wet. I was happy to exit to the left when the time came.

I also got to spend some money on the carney games this year. Mommy never lets us do that but we had some coupons so she said why not. Ashley and I won these very stylish glasses (also worn by rappers, or so I have been told).

At 3:45, right as the Rodeo was starting, I was checked out asleep. Davis was thinking about nap number 2 that happened right about the time Selena came on. Davis loved the rodeo events. He watched, clapped and commented. I mainly begged for cotton candy and pizzas. We had a fantastic time.

MCP Rodeo Days 2011

Our school hosted Rodeo Days last week. Mom helped take care of the festivities. So, we helped set up and got to practice our Rodeo skills with our friend before schoool started.

Here we are trying out some stick horse barrel racing. We also branded a picture of a cow with a potato masher. We played dress up and had a pretend campfire. We also got to pan for gold. It was so much fun.

Here we are all dude'd up before school. I was not thrilled to be taking the picture because I think cowboys should get to carry light sabers. Mom was not going for that but took my picture, to show future girlfriends anyway. All that said, aren't our cowboy get-ups cute?

Pre-K Parent Appreciation Tea

Every year the Pre-K at my school puts on a tea for our parents. We sing some songs to show them how much we love them and then we serve them tea or lemonade and muffins. We serve Mom first, then Dad and then ourselves. We break up into two groups so only have of Pre-K is up here.

Since we are not in school during Mothers Day or Fathers Day we went ahead and gave our folks their gifts at the tea. I made dad an awesome popsicle stick box. It says "You Rock" on it!

Check out my serving skills. Look at my form. Also, look at my belt. I was seriously upset that I did not have a belt that fit me. Mommy came to the rescue and bought me a belt before the tea began. I so appreciate her. But note, I ripped that belt off before teh tea was over.

My delivery was perfect. Perfect. Mom and Dad were super impressed and thankful. It was a hit.

Valentines Day 2011

Hope you all enjoyed Valentines Day. We had heart shaped burgers at home with Mommy and Daddy.

We were in Marshall the weekend before Valentines Day and celebrated with Nana, Pappy, Aunt Sally and Uncle Floyd. We might have gone a little over board in their cards!
