Byman's Thanksgiving Trans Texas Trip

 We went on an epic adventure, journey even, over our Thanksgiving Break.  We headed to Alpine Thursday afternoon and spent the night in Kerrville. Good news, no car vs. deer battles this trip.  I left my mark on the Kerrville Hampton Inn.

 We got to Alpine on Friday.  Just in time for a slightly late celebration of cousin MTK's 1st birthday.  That's one cute cousin that we have.

 Alpine has a skate park.  A for real skate park.  We didn't bring our skateboards so we improvised.   You would not believe how hard it is to do this.

 Not only were we celebrating MTK's birthday.  Alpine was also home to an ArtWalk the weekend we were there.  I drew a few gems to display and Aunt Marsha gave me a prime display.  Sadly, no takers.

 After the art walk, we went to an open house at Big Bend Brewing Co., a brewery that just opened in Alpine.  It was on the edge of town so we had a view of some cool mountains.  Don't worry, I had ice tea.  Mommy, Daddy, Pappy, Marsha and Uncle Matt all sampled and said it was better than ok.

 Texan law enforcement? Maybe one day.

 Just to prove that we have done it all in Alpine! This place used to have a bunch of donkeys.  Now it has this sign!

 After Alpine, Daddy flew home and we started East on our journey to Marshall.  NO, we didn't go by covered wagon.  This was at the Abiliene Frontier museum.  We highly recommend it to all of you readers (if we still have readers).

 This huge skull was also there.  And no, it is not real!  After Abiline, we stopped in Weatherford for lunch and a cool bakery in Lindale for a snack and made it home in time for dinner.  It was a pretty good trip all the way.  Davis and I drew lots of pictures, listened to Christmas music and watched a few movies.  Less than mommy thought we would watch.

 Once we made it to Marshall we had lots of fun.  We did lots of wrestling, color, game playing, bike riding, running, fishing, tree climbing, target shooting,  movie watching and Duck Dynasty watching.  We even saw Life of Pi in 3-D.  The movies in Marshall are very affordable compared to home, or so the grownups say!

 Fishing was fun.  Little brother didn't get his way about something or another so he isn't smiling.

 Oh wait, he smiles when we catch a fish. I see how he works!

Awards

 Daddy's team, the Super Heroes, did great.

The Galaxy finished the season stronger than any of Luke's prior teams.  See you soccer, until Spring!

Halloween 2012

 "Our" Pumpkin Patch has this awesome barrel train.  On busy days we have to ride together.

 The pumpkins are delivered in straw.  Can you see us?

 D had to make a storybook pumpkin.  He chose...Batman!

 D's Pre-K 4 class.  He loves his class and is really well behaved there.  At home, not so much.  We think he uses up all his good at school.  He has nothing left when he gets home!

 D and I did the Monster Dash together this year.  We did great.  I came in 2nd in the under 7.  D ran the whole thing without stopping.

 D says that now that he has a medal he doesn't need to run any more races!

 I'm thrilled as I can be with my 2nd Monster Dash metal.   Setting my sights on the Winter Dash now.

 My soccer team- the Galaxy.  We are pretty good this year and actually understand positions and strategy.

 Mommy is not a fan of gooey stuff.  Not at all.  But she found a recipe on line that was really thick slime so she let us give it a try.  The result was some awesome monster slime.  The secret ingredient is glitter.

 Good presentation, right?

 I was a werewolf this year.  I'm scary.

 D was supposed to be Batman.  He didn't like the way the costume felt.  Mommy thought he could wear his Commander Fox costume that was too big last year, but guess what? It is still to big.  So, Ninja Costume it is.  Funny thing is that I could not wear my werewolf costume to school so I was the ninja during the day and D was the ninja at night.

 Mimi and SueSue hung out with us on Halloween.  They passed out candy at our house so that we could trick or treat all night! But, it was short lived- we were candy filled by 8 pm and we ran out of candy at our house at 8:05.

 Tia, PacMan, Nash and Wren came to visit.  When Mommy and Tia saw each other they cracked up.  They were dressed almost exactly alike  Down to the turquoise necklaces.  Silly sisters.

 While they were visiting they took a trip to the zoo (I was at school).  Davis and Nash had a great time.  Can't you tell?

 I really love my kindergarten class.  We had a Fall craft day to make things for our Thanksgiving feast.  Mommy even came to help us make Indian noisemakers.

Not sure why this picture didn't post on the top of this post but so it is.  Mommy says we will laugh about this picture later because our hair is so, so long!

More Fall Happenings

 On its way to stay at a museum in California, the last space shuttle (with 24+ missions in space) came for a short visit to Houston.  Daddy left work early and took us to check it out.  A real part of history.

 I'm playing soccer this Fall.  Daddy is my coach.  I play with the I9 league.  My team is the super heroes.  My friends Reid, Cody and my cousin Ryan are all on my team.  I've met a few other friends on the team now too.

 In our league, you rotate in and out of the game and everyone gets to be the goalie once.  I'm a pretty good goalie.

 I went on my first field trip this Fall.  My class went to see "Duck For President" at the Main Street Theater.

 It was also my first time on a school bus.  I had a great time.

 Luke played Fall ball.  He has a big fan club.

 Luke was an LSU Tiger.  Normally Mommy and Daddy would have coordinating Tigers gear but now that the Aggies are in the SEC we can't cheer for LSU!

 In the Fall Mommy went on a work trip to Colorado Springs.  On her afternoon off she went to the top of Pike's Peak with her assistant David.  It was cold up there with very thin air but it was beautiful!
